El Hierro has a natural relevance and the closest you get in touch with the nature, the better you’ll encounter the heart of this island and its inhabitants. Nature is the most important element for this place and you’re perception of it will provide you the most amazing relaxing holidays you might wish for.
In order to better guide all the hikers that come to this island, many trails and hiking paths were created on this island by the island council. All the tracks are signed with arrows, information panels, interpretative tables and painted marks. The trials are identified by letters and numbers according to three categories, Long, Short Distance or Local.
There are hiking trails all over the island with continuous maintenance ensuring that you’ll never get lost. Don’t forget to bring your water, some food and a lamp for any emergency.
