the Néstor Museum is located inside the archaeological complex of Pueblo Canario, built by Néstor himself, on the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on the Gran Canaria island.

The Néstor Museum is a gallery where they exhibit a huge part of the canary artist Néstor Martin Fernández de La Torre. The museum is considered a reference to the cultural heritage of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

This institution opened their doors for the first time in 1956, with the donation of the works from the artist’s family and other contributions made by individual contributors.

Nowadays it has 12 exhibition rooms that have both permanent and temporary exhibitions. Additionally, it has a documentation centre, a pedagogical centre and a shop.

The museum has only one floor where you might find different rooms with diverse exhibitions.
The entrance is on the Pueblo Canario square and, on the first room after the entrance you’ll immediately find most of this artist’s paintings as well as his portrait gallery, the Epitalamio piece, the Poema del Atlántico piece and a precious collection of canvas the symbolise the different conditions of the Atlantic itself.

Upstairs, in one of the first rooms you’ll see a precious demonstration of the theatre pieces realized by Néstor as well as many scenographic models and clothing designs. The following three rooms host the last pieces of work from the artist, it most relevance for the unfinished piece Poema de la Tierra. You might even observe a few other sketches, different several studies about canary flora and a collection of drawings. On the other rooms there are many temporary exhibitions that, even though they don’t have a straight relations with the author are usually very interesting.

Adults pay 2€, minors (under 18 years old), students, elderly people and groups have free entrance.
