The Natural Monument of Montaña Pelada (Pelada Mountain) is located in Granadilla de Abona, on the south coast of Tenerife.

The Natural Monument of Montaña Pelada has more than 152 hectare near the coast.

It has a wide volcanic cone and a cauldron with a diameter of nearly one kilometer, formed by volcanic materials and rocks.

From here you might see the mineral sand dunes on the slopes where many native plants’ communities live, similar to the ones you could find on El Médano and on Montaña Roja.

Nowadays, Montaña Pelada is threatened due to the uncontrolled visitor’s affluence to its fragile slopes.
