El Médano is the principal touristic centre in Granadilla de Abona, a beautiful municipality located on the south of Tenerife.

One of the main attractions in El Médano are its marvellous beaches. It has the widest beach in Tenerife (Médano Beach) with more than 2 kilometers wide, low depth and fine white sand. La Tejita beach is also located in El Médano yet separated from El Médano Beach by Montaña Roja, an impressive mountain with red coloration were the erosion created a more than 50 meters cliff.
It’s interesting to know that by the end of the third weekend of September El Médano celebrates the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes de Roja Festivity; and on the 28th october they celebrate the Picacho Festivity. .
