Cumbre Vieja Natural Park

The Cumbre Vieja Natural Park, is located on the island of La Palma, it’s part of six municipalities and it divides the island in two.

This park has an alignment of volcanoes, some of them already erupted on the XX century. Here you might identify many different species and it has an important archaeological value.

The Cumbre Vieja Natural Park has a popular and interesting rout known as La Ruta de los volcanes inaccesibles or “The Route of the Inaccessible Volcanoes”.

This route can only be done by foot and we recommend all of those visiting La Palma to arrange some time to do it, as it will allow you to pass through the most important volcanoes on this island while observing awesome landscapes from this and other islands.

Formerly, this park was constituted by two different natural parks, the Coladas del Volcán de Martín Park and the Cumbre Vieja y Teneguía Park, but since 1994 they’ve united leaving the Volcanes de Teneguía as an independent park.

If you’re in La Palma don’t miss visiting this amazing park, as well as it’s awesome trail, you won’t regret it!
