Santa Catalina de la Siena Monastery

The Santa Catalina de la Siena Monastery is localized on the El Adelantado Square on the historic centre of La Laguna, on the Northeast of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.

This religious building has been recognized Cultural Interest Good in the category of Monument since 1986. This enclosure belonging to the Dominican Nuns, was built over the property donated by the Cabrejas family on the beginning of the XVII century.

On the facade of this historic enclosure you might see its mullioned windows while on its interior we should highlight the valuable historic-artistic furniture as well as the body of Sor María de Jesús, known as the servant of God.

How to get here:

To get to the Santa Catalina de la Siena Monastery it’s advisable to rent a car in Tenerife and head to San Cristóbal de La Laguna, through the TF-5. Once in the municipality you should head to Plaza del Adelantado, close to Santo Domingo.

It’s possible to get here by bus as there’s a bus stop on the square Plaza del Adelantado.
